When it comes to professional development, the only thing that matters is how what you learn is going to help you improve your impact on your students.  

We’ve all been to professional development that doesn’t seem to connect with our classroom or our kids. I get it, I really do.  Because I’ve been there.  Doodling in the margins of whatever hand out I’ve been given because “this PD doesn’t really feel like it fits with what I need right now.” …But, professional development doesn’t have to be that way. After a decade delivering professional development face to face at schools and in conferences all over Australia.  When I plan my training sessions, I remember those doodles i drew in the margins of my own notebooks (and the colleague I’d have to kick under the table to keep awake) and I make sure that what I bring to my sessions does three important things:
  • It stays relevant with practical tips that you can use right now in your own practice.
  • Shares my passion and enthusiasm.  I LOVE what I do and I want you to love it to.
  • Serves up information in bite-sized, easy to manage to chunks of knowledge.

Outstanding resource for educators and leaders Anyone who is dealing with teachers and the registration and accreditation process for educators needs to listen to this podcast. It's very well produced, and the illustrations and examples are practical and easily applied. This is a great way for a teacher having to navigate the process on his or her own to access expert advice, and also for leaders who are assisting teachers on the journey to find a reference point for their role. Highly recommend!
